Maldives,
one of the most aquatic nations of the globe has and
always been a unique country. Scattered across the
Indian Ocean just about 80 – 120 kilometers
wide and stretching 860 kilometers from latitude 7°6”N
to 0°41”S
and lying between 72°32”
and 73°45”E
is a perfect hideaway for holiday makers and others who
enjoy the wilderness and the beauty of the tropical side
of life. And this beautiful gift of nature is the home
for about 270,000 natives and 1,350
different species of marine life. With only 201
inhabited islands from an approximation of 1190
islands, Maldives offers 83 different islands,
tastefully and exclusively designed and constructed as
accommodations for our tourists. These resorts differ in
landscaping and facilities provided but the only thing
common in these islands is the beauty and the charm of
nature. The clear pristine waters and the sandy beaches
stretching from each single island, and the green of the
palm trees which gives an additional taste to the
scenery. Not forgetting the gardens underneath crystal
clear waters, where multicolored fish, coral and other
marine life, lives in harmony providing an excellent
view for the tourist with great interests of
exploration.
In
Maldives, all through the year we have summer, with an
average temperature and rainfall of 30°C
and less than 2m/annum respectively.
In Maldives, a common language known as Dhivehi
is spoken. The script is as unique as the spoken
language. And all Maldivians practice a common religion-
Islam.
